I moved to Nacogdoches in January of '97, to attend SFA, with every intent to get my degree and return to Houston. However, God had another plan for me, when I met and fell in love with East Texas and one of its blonde-haired blued eyed country girls and married Dr. Hollie Smith. We now have roots here, when we had 2 children born in Nac (BIN): Austin and Averie.

I am very involved in my community and a member of the following organizations: Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce (Past Chairman), Economic Development Corporation, Nacogdoches Rotary Club, SFA Alumni Association (Current Board Member), National Wild Turkey Federation (Past President), East Texas Sportsman's Club (Past Board Member), East Texas Off-road Club, Nacogdoches Area United Way, Grace Bible Church and SFA Lumberjack Athletics (Donor and Season Ticket Holder).
